納屋と名付けたカット・ジャカード織物は、山梨県の特産物である果実を栽培する農家の、懐かしい風景がデザインのヒントです。果樹園の仕事に欠かせないのが「納屋」です。山梨地域では、今も木製の納屋を見かけます。納屋は定住して暮らしを営んでいることを表しており、果樹園での生活の中心となっていたのです。その納屋も時代とともに姿を消してゆきましたが、この木造建築はとても長持ちするように設計されており、現在も数多く残っているのです。納屋は、山梨県の果樹園農業を表すアイコンであり、歴史的建造物でもあるのです。山梨県の食文化を守り、納屋保存への夢を託して。

This cut jacquard fabric takes its design hint from the old time orchards of Yananashi, due west of Tokyo. As often as not, fruit growers in Yamanashi still have wooden barns that bespeak a calm unhurried lifestyle centred on family farming.Many old barns have disappeared over the years, but the ones that survive stand strong and proud. These barns are thus symbols of Yamanashi’s fruit farming and exemplary pieces of architectural heritage. We dedicate this textile to the preservation of Yamanashi’s food culture and local lore.
